How to Customize Your Dashboards

Dashboards are the primary active visualization of your data. Every location from Site to Sensor has its own Dashboard, but customization is done per tier. In other words, customizing one Room level Dashboard will affect the way all Room level Dashboards display. For more information on the location hierarchy structure please see How to navigate between different locations.

Note: This article applies to Dashboards when viewed through a computer browser. For more information on mobile dashboards please see Why Do Dashboards look Different on Mobile.

When you first access your account, all Dashboards will display a default set of Widgets. Widgets are how we refer to each visualization component displayed on a given Dashboard. These Widgets align with specific measurements, calculated data points and miscellaneous information respectively. Most Widgets can be configured to display data in different ways, including, but not limited to, live data, average data, aggregate data and graphical visualizations.

In order to add a new Widget to a Dashboard:

  1. Click the Add New Widget button on the top right of the Dashboard to open the Toolbox.
  2. Select the category applicable to the measurement or data point you are looking for.
  3. Click on the relevant measurement or data point label.
  4. Click the Add [Measurement] button on the bottom right of the Toolbox.
    1. Widgets will be added to the bottom of the Dashboard in a default state.

To remove a Widget from a Dashboard:

  1. Click on the Trash icon trash icon on the top right of the relevant Widget.
    1. If possible, the other Widgets will automatically reposition themselves to fill the space left over by the removed Widget.

  2. Drag the Widget around the Dashboard.
    1. As soon as you start moving a Widget, a positioning grid will be visible.
    2. Other Widgets will automatically reposition themselves as you move the Widget.
  3. Release your left mouse button once the Widget is in the desired position.

Note: Widgets showing a graphical representation of the chosen data allow you to download an image of the displayed graph. To do so, simply click on the Download icon Download icon on the top right of the Widget.

You can also download all graphs on the Dashboard at once, by clicking the Download icon Download icon on the top right of the Dashboard itself.
