How to Enroll a New Sensor

Note: This article applies to Standalone Sensors only. Enrollment of networked sensors will be done by our service and installation team.

Standalone Sensors can be purchased directly from us or from any of our partners. When you receive the sensor, you can scan the attached QR code to begin the enrollment process. The first step in this process will be registering an account. For more information on the registration process please see How to Create a Coretex Account.

Upon completing the registration process, you will be redirected to the Site enrollment page. For more information on Site enrollment please see How to Create a Site.

Note: If you already have a SecondSky Data account, you will skip both the registration and Site enrollment steps by signing into your account.

Once the Site enrollment process is complete or if you signed in to an existing account, you will be redirected to the final step in the sensor enrollment process.

  1. Your new sensor has a generated display name by default, but you can change this to anything that makes navigating the application easier for you. This can be done later, for more information please see How to Change a Sensor’s Name.
  2. Add in any tags that you would like displayed alongside your sensor within the application. For example, you can use tags to more easily communicate the intended function or physical location of the sensor.
  3. If you followed the Site enrollment process, the Location will be locked, but if you signed in to an existing account, you will need to select the Location into which you wish to enroll your new sensor.
  4. You can also add a longitude and latitude (in decimal format) to your sensor configuration. This is optional but can be useful for maintaining your hierarchy in the long term.
  5. Click on the Enroll device button to complete the process. The device will be remotely updated to communicate correctly and the application will start receiving your data immediately.

To view incoming data, navigate to the Dashboard for the selected Location. For more information on how to navigate the platform please see How to Navigate Between Different Locations.
