How to Move a Sensor to a Different Location

In order to change a Sensor’s name you will need to have the Devices/Management/Edit permission enabled on your User Role. You will also need Zone/Read permissions for both the current and future Locations. For more information on User Roles please see How to manage what your users can access.

To move a Sensor to a different Location, follow these steps:

1. Use the Location Selector on the left-hand sidebar to navigate to the Location in which the Sensor you wish to rename is enrolled.

2. Click on the Devices option in the left-hand sidebar menu.
3. Click on the Configure Device button to the right of the relevant Sensor.
4. Click on the Move device button.
5. Click on the Location you wish to move the Sensor to.
6. Click on the Confirm move button on the bottom right of the form.

Note: Please be aware that the historical data attached to the Sensor will also be moved, but in order to maintain data integrity this will not affect the aggregate or average data associated with Locations further up the Location Hierarchy, for neither the current nor the future Location of the Sensor.
